TRAIL was the subject of several media stories in recent weeks, thanks to the group's participation in a February 15, 2017, event sponsored by the UI Obermann Center for Advanced Studies on the topic of keeping older Johnson County residents in existing neighborhoods.

In front of a capacity crowd in Meeting Room A of the Iowa City Public Library, TRAIL board members Nancy Hauserman and Susan Shullaw joined Mercedes Bern-Klug, Director of the UI Aging Studies Program, and Obermann Center Director Teresa Mangum for a wide-ranging discussion of issues facing older adults who wish to remain in their own homes as they age.

The event triggered stories in the Iowa City Press-Citizen ("New nonprofit aims to help seniors age in place"), the Daily Iowan ("Neighborhoods for the ages, by all the ages"), the Cedar Rapids Gazette ("Tools to age in place"), and the Corridor Business Journal ("TRAIL aims to help senior citizens stay at home"). Look for additional media coverage in the coming weeks, when TRAIL takes part in these upcoming events:
