New Senior Housing & Services Guide available
TRAIL’s just-published 2025 Johnson County Senior Housing and Services Guide – a valuable resource for TRAIL member households and for older adults and their families in Johnson County and beyond – is now available to the public, free of charge.
The guide in PDF form can be viewed or downloaded from the TRAIL website. Printed copies of the 50-page booklet are available from the TRAIL office in the Iowa City Senior Center, 28 S. Linn St., Room G03 during office hours (Monday-Friday, 9 AM to 1 PM).
Much has changed in the senior housing landscape in recent years, with new communities opening at a steady pace. In addition, TRAIL continues to see an increase in older adults needing not just safe, comfortable, and affordable housing, but also access to other types of services that enable more successful aging in place. These services can range from at-home medical care to temporary, in-patient rehabilitation facilities for recovery after a fall or other medical issues.
The 2025 guide addresses these needs in a comprehensive, easy-to-use format. Intended as a community resource, this publication helps fulfill TRAIL’s mission of helping older adults throughout Johnson County live and thrive in the places they call home.
The guide is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all senior-housing facilities in the county, and includes only those facilities that responded to an invitation to be featured.
