TRAIL Hosts June 19 Senior Housing Fair
TRAIL of Johnson County, the local aging-in-place nonprofit, is hosting a Senior Housing and Services Fair on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 11 AM to 2 PM at the Kirkwood Regional Center, 2301 Oakdale Blvd., in Coralville. The event is free and open to the public.
According to TRAIL Executive Director Christine Scheetz, the fair is in response to the growth in senior housing options in Johnson County, as well as the increased need for at-home services, including medical and non-medical care.
“TRAIL members, their friends and families are curious about these senior living communities and their amenities,” Scheetz says. “The event allows attendees to learn about the features and care that each offers, all in one place. Fair visitors also will learn more about the many at-home service providers, including TRAIL, that help older adults continue living safely and with support in their homes as they age.”
Fair attendees also will be able to take home a free copy of TRAIL’s new Johnson County Housing and Services Guide (while supplies last), a 50-page booklet that includes descriptions of nearly 40 senior living facilities (independent living, assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing), 18 at-home medical and non-medical care providers and more. Generous support for production of the guide was provided by 100+ Women Who Care—Hawkeye Chapter, BrownWinick Law Firm, Lois E. James, Terri Larson and Andi Miller, Lepic-Kroeger REALTORS, and Remedy Internal Medicine.
Corporate sponsors of TRAIL’s 2025 Johnson County Senior Housing and Services Fair include Essence of Life Hospice, Hills Bank, Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service, Gathering Place/a Western Home Community, and others.
